Our Club was formed in 1991 by Richard Hewitt and Ian Woodward when they advertised in the village for any children interested in football to meet on the old Wide Lane pitch one Sunday morning. That first day approx 30 boys turned up and from then 2 teams were formed to enter the Craven Junior League the following season at U11 and U12 ages. From then on the Club continued to grow every year and now has teams at every age including Open Age and 3 Girls teams. The Club achieved Charter Standard in 2002 and a year later achieved Charter Development status. In 2005 we have recieved Charter Community status, the pinnacle of the Charter Standard Scheme. So far only a small number of Clubs nationwide have achieved this status, therefore the Club is very proud to be one of a select group..
We have won many titles and cups over the years, and have enjoyed visits overseas to France and Holland. The Club has won the Charter Club of the Year and Charter Development Club of the Year from West Riding County FA in the last 2 seasons.
This season we have seen rapid strides in the Girls section where over 40 girls are now training regularly with more turning up weekly!!
We have also re launched the Senior Saturday team into the Craven League where they have made a good start. The team will give the young players an exit route into senior football. We have had some super footballers come through the Club since 1991 and through not having a proper exit route within the Club they have all moved on to other Senior Clubs. We hope that by the time our next group of players are ready for senior football they will have a good senior team to join playing a good level of football.
